Sephora is set to continue its rapid expansion across the UK with plans to debut a new boutique store format

The first boutique store is set to open in summer 2026 on London’s iconic Carnaby Street, one of the capital’s most well-known shopping destinations.

While Sephora will continue to rollout the large-format stores in key regional cities, the boutique format will allow the retailer to serve customers through smaller, more intimate spaces. Customers will be able access premium beauty and expert advice without the commitment of a destination shop.

The boutique store will feature a carefully curated selection of cult favourite and indie brands from the likes of Haus Labs, Makeup by Mario, Glossier, Rare Beauty, Sol De Janeiro and more.

Customers will also be able to access personalised beauty consultations, gift-wrapping and engraving services, as well as immersive store experiences. The store will also feature a never seen before external façade.

New stores, including the Carnaby Street store, will also roll out Sephora’s ‘Beauty Scan’ technology, which assesses a customer’s skin and provides insights for skincare-based needs and shade matching for foundation.

Sephora has also revealed that it will open a second boutique store in London’s bustling and vibrant Spitalfields, with further London locations promised this year. An eventual rollout to other regional UK city high streets is also planned in the next few years.

Catherine Spindler, President of Sephora Europe and Middle East, says: “We are very excited to reveal this new store format, carving out our own unique path through an expansion strategy and commitment that reflect our ongoing consumer engagement.

“We’re thrilled to bring this new experience of Sephora London – a city that has always been at the heart of beauty culture and innovation,” adds Spindler.

The announcement comes as Sephora continues its rapid expansion into 2026; the retailer opened its first store in Northern Ireland at Belfast’s Victoria Square in February.

Sephora is also set to open a store at Bristol Cabot Circus later this spring, as part of Sephora’s ambition to have opened 20 stores across the UK by the end of 2026.
